Honey Mole Removal

Most people have moles somewhere on their body and face, and most of the time they are not affected by them.  But what happens if you want to remove a mole for aesthetic reasons or if it is in an awkward place?  The NHS will only remove moles from the body that are deemed to be cancerous or malignant melanomas.  If you purely want to remove your mole for aesthetic reasons, you will have to pay for the treatment.  Before you go down the surgery route, you should be advised that there are a number of cheap, home remedies for mole removal that can be tried first.  Honey mole removal is one of these.

How to do Honey Mole Removal

Honey mole removal can be accomplished in just a few easy steps.  If you are unsure about the state of your mole, it is wise to speak to a doctor or dermatologist before attempting any of the steps outlined below.

  1. The first step in honey mole removal is… you’ve guessed it – buying the honey!  You can use almost any type of honey for this home remedy and it can usually be picked up from a local grocery or health food store.  It is important to keep the honey at room temperature before you use it as cooling it down can affect the enzymes contained within the product.
  2. Before attempting honey mole removal you need to make sure that the mole you want removing and the area surrounding it is clean and free of oil.  You can do this by washing it with soapy, warm water and drying the area with a clean towel.
  3. The next step is to apply a liberal amount of honey to the specific mole that you wish to remove.  Honey should not harm the skin but just in case you may want to place petroleum jelly around the area of the mole.  You should then cover the mole with a plaster in order to keep the honey in place.
  4. Follow the above steps twice a day and reapply a plaster each time.

How Long Does it Take for Honey Mole Removal to Work?

Every person is different and whilst honey mole removal may work within a week for one person it may take a couple of months for another.  The length of time it takes to work will also depend on the size of your mole and whether it is raised from the skin.  If you find that this method does not work as quickly as you would have liked there are other home remedies available that may suit you better.

Why Use Honey Mole Removal?

Honey is used in a number of health care ingredients for its healing properties.  The enzymes found in honey have been proven to be a great remedy for skin problems and spots.  Honey has been used for centuries to combat problems such as this, and as it is so much cheaper than over the counter mole removal creams and surgery many people are opting for this method of mole removal as an initial step.
